“应在第一时间取证” 尚穆根坦言警方处理巴蒂案存疏失

内政暨律政部长尚穆根坦言,警方在处理前女佣巴蒂案中存在疏失。廖文良一家报案后,理应第一时间就前往查看物证,但办案警员却没有这么做。

巴蒂是在2016年10月28日被解雇,雇主廖文良儿子廖启龙,给他箱子限他两小时内收拾东西,当天即送返印尼。不料廖文良父子却在两日后报警,指巴蒂盗窃。
然而吊诡当时,迟至2016年12月3日,也就是廖文良报警五周后,才前往廖家取证。据了解是因为负责警员“工作忙碌和私人原因”。这段期间,廖家仍能继续使用这些物证。尚穆根称,这已违反法律要求的办案程序,也没能确保证据的完整、进行适当的记录。
尚穆根指涉事警员已被内部调查,并采取必要行动,惟未透露是否对其作出惩处。

对于高庭指责,警方在庭上向巴蒂展示的物证照片是黑白照、警方录取口供也出现文法错误,尚穆根指警方已接受高庭的建议。
