Former Senior Minister of State for Transport and Health, Dr Lam Pin Min, has been appointed as the senior advisor of a car rental company Lumens Auto.

Lumens Auto announced in a Facebook post on Tuesday (27 Oct) that Dr Lam’s role will “focus on helping Lumens build and expand its key business sectors and to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders”.

“Dr Lam brings with him a wealth of experience and deep understanding of Singapore’s transport sector and will work closely with senior management of Lumens to realise our vision of providing reliable solutions to enhance quality of life, improving productivity and efficiency of our society,” it noted.

Dr Lam was part of the People’s Action Party (PAP) team that lost to the Workers’ Party (WP) team comprising lawyer He Ting Ru, economics professor Jamus Lim, equity analyst Louis Chua and social activist Raeesah Khan in the general election this year.

He contested alongside National Trades Union Congress chief Ng Chee Meng, former Parliamentary Secretary Amrin Amin and lawyer Raymond Lye.

As a result of losing in the GE, Dr Lam had to step down as Senior Minister of State for Health and Transport.

But within a month of so, Dr Lam has been chief executive officer of Eagle Eye Centre since 1 September, which operates several clinics specialising in eye care services and ophthalmology.

Dr Lam also shared the news of his latest appointment on his Facebook today, saying that he is “glad to have met the motivated and professional team this morning to better understand their vision, aspiration and challenges in today’s increasingly complex environment”.

“And I look forward to working with the Team to advance Lumens’ business development and growth in the sector,” he wrote.
