SDP’s Chee Soon Juan to conduct virtual townhall meeting to discuss issues pertaining Bukit Batok residents
Singapore Democratic Party’s (SDP) chief Chee Soon Juan will be conducting a Virtual Townhall Meeting this Saturday (24 October) for the residents of Bukit Batok.
Revealing this in a Facebook post on Wednesday (21 October), Dr Chee said that this online meeting will be divided into three segments to discuss issues concerning the people of Bukit Batok, and will include question and answer session for residents to voice any concerns that they have.
“In this first part, I’ll be talking about some of the problems that residents have raised regarding the estate and how the Jurong-Clementi Town Council is dealing with them,” the SDP chief said.
He added, “Second, I’ll tell you what Team SDP has been up to these past few months since the GE and what we have planned for BB in the coming weeks and months”.
As for the last segment of the meeting, Dr Chee said he will be discussing a “topic of national interest that affects you and your loved ones”.
Lastly, he will also open up the floor for people to ask questions and hear their thoughts on what can be done to enhance their life at Bukit Batok.
“I’d like to do this on a quarterly basis as I feel that residents should come together often and be able to discuss matters related to the constituency, the community and the nation. When Covid-19 rules are relaxed, we should meet in-person,” he said.
He continued, “Until then, however, we have to meet virtually. So tune in this Saturday afternoon, grab a cup of coffee and join me for BB’s first ever Townhall Meeting. See you then.”
For those who are interested to join the Virtual Townhall Meeting, all you have to do is send your name, email address and contact number to [email protected] or 8413 0302 (WhatsApp/SMS).
