As of Wednesday noon (14 Oct), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 infection.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 57,889.

There are two new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection.

“Based on our investigations so far, both are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories,” said MOH.

In addition, there are three new imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Amongst the new cases today, 1 is asymptomatic and was detected from screening and surveillance, while 4 were symptomatic.

All the new cases today are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters.

There are no new cases linked to existing or new clusters today.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

12 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 57,752 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 39 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 70 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

28 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
