行动党议员也提环境税 林志蔚:疫情下政府亦未撤碳税

盛港集选区议员林志蔚,本周在国会中提问,若新加坡航空落实“空中漫游”(新航已打消念头),政府会否对此征收环境税。不过交通部长王乙康已表明立场,当下对新航征环境税如同“落井下石”。

据林志蔚在7日的脸书贴文,重申他本身的用意,是冀望能群策群力,商讨能在不牺牲环境的前提下扶助新航,他也坚信透过调整成本,征收环境税甚至能让新航员工受惠,保住工作。

不过林志蔚坦言对于一些言论感到有些失望,指他在危难时刻,还有意征收额外税收。

林志蔚重申,“我会在“空中漫游”的课题中提出环境税的讨论是因为,我认为好的政策,必须经过深思熟虑和严正的辩论所得出来的结果。我也一直将其视为我从政的原则。“

在他今日(9日)发表的脸书贴文,则附上一份国会通告截图。原来那是蔡厝港集选区议员黄文鸿,询问环境和永续部部长,有鉴于瓶子或包包装饮料产品对环境的影响,当局会否征收环境税?有关提问已被撤回。

事实上,林志蔚表示,环境课题影响深远,不应以牺牲工作和利润为代价,同时也不应只是因地制宜。

“因为环境是影响着所有子孙后代的生存问题。我相信拯救工作与拯救地球,是相辅相成的。”

他也相信国会其他议员也对于环境税也会保持一些想法,但每个人都有权利在经过深思熟虑后改变主意。

与此同时,林志蔚也谈及碳税的课题,直指政府选择不撤销碳税,也间接承认环境课题的重要性。

政府亦重视环境权衡

“事实上,政府在疫情期间选择不撤销碳税,间接承认,任何政策商讨中,我们应始终牢记环境因素,与之权衡。”

尽管此次争取失败,但他在文末也表示,将会竭尽所能,坚持提出建设性批评和评论。

“因为我认为这样做是为了我们的国家、企业和人民。”
