超标化学物质污水倒入下水道! 威记食品被罚1万7700元
公用事业局指出,一家本地食品制造商多次将超标的化学物质倒入公共下水道内,因此对它开出1万7700元的罚单。
当局于今日(10月8日)发文告指出,当局于去年9月到10月期间,到威记食品位于大成道的厂房进行稽查时,发现他们将含有化学物质的污水倒入下水道内。污水内的化学含量超标了120倍以上,也好有超标八倍以上的油渍。
该公司因此面对四项排放含超标化学物质污水的控状,还有六项控状在下判时被纳入考量中。
据文告指出,威记食品并非首次违法,该公司于起2019年5月也因类似罪行而被定罪,被罚款了1万4400元。
当局指出,下水道若出现化学物质超标或油渍含量超标的情况,会影响水的处理过程,进而导致新生水的生产被破坏。
为了保护下水道和排水系统等,当局自今年5月4日起,就不再批准威记食品将污水倒入下水道,并要求该公司聘请废料收集公司进行废料处理。
