超标化学物质污水倒入下水道！ 威记食品被罚1万7700元
公用事业局指出，一家本地食品制造商多次将超标的化学物质倒入公共下水道内，因此对它开出1万7700元的罚单。
当局于今日（10月8日）发文告指出，当局于去年9月到10月期间，到威记食品位于大成道的厂房进行稽查时，发现他们将含有化学物质的污水倒入下水道内。污水内的化学含量超标了120倍以上，也好有超标八倍以上的油渍。
该公司因此面对四项排放含超标化学物质污水的控状，还有六项控状在下判时被纳入考量中。
据文告指出，威记食品并非首次违法，该公司于起2019年5月也因类似罪行而被定罪，被罚款了1万4400元。
当局指出，下水道若出现化学物质超标或油渍含量超标的情况，会影响水的处理过程，进而导致新生水的生产被破坏。
为了保护下水道和排水系统等，当局自今年5月4日起，就不再批准威记食品将污水倒入下水道，并要求该公司聘请废料收集公司进行废料处理。
