Earlier on 27 September, a commotion broke out at Yishun Park Hawker Centre at a stall named Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang.

According to Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang‘s Facebook post, a man in a black cap grew impatient for the two sets of food items that his wife had ordered at 10:21 am.

While the wife made the order, she was advised to wait for 15 minutes and she agreed to it.

At 10:26 am, the woman’s husband came to the stall to ask for the food. He was then informed about the waiting time and he was reported to have “berated” the staff at the nasi lemak stall.

The man was said to have shouted at the staff and telling them to prioritise his order by serving him first, instead of other customers who were waiting as well.

Expressing that they have “zero tolerance for rudeness”, the store decided to refund to the couple. However, the man began threatening to punch and throw hot coffee at the staff.

The nasi lemak store then filed a police report against the man.

Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang then updated their followers on Facebook that the man had “communicated to the police” and “conveyed his apologies”.

A reporter visited the store interviewed the staff from other stalls about the incident, and it was revealed that the female staff and the man were having a heated exchange due to the waiting time, as reported by Lianhe Zaobao.

“They were most likely arguing because of the waiting time. They had also raised their voices in the exchange, but it did not get physical.”

A 40-year-old man who witnessed the commotion told the reporter that a police officer arrived at the scene to handle the situation and the officer left after approximately 15 minutes.

As the owner of Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang was invited for an interview, he or she refused to comment because both parties had resolved the dispute.

Apparently, the nasi lemak store had previously posted a separate Facebook post with photos uploaded. The first post and the photos have since been deleted.
