As of Saturday noon (12 Sep), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 42 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total number of infection cases to 57,357.
Amongst the new cases today, 41 are asymptomatic, and were detected from the screening and surveillance, while 1 was symptomatic.
There are four new cases in the community, one of whom is a Singapore Permanent Resident and three are Work Pass holders.
In addition, there are 10 imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
Of the new cases, 88% are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
No new clusters were identified.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
92 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 56,699 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 54 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 577 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
27 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
