The Mid-Autumn festival is a key celebration in the Chinese culture where families and friends gather together to appreciate the full moon and lovely lanterns with mooncakes, which symbolises completeness and reunions.

In conjunction with the festival this September, Home Nursing Foundation (HNF), Singapore’s oldest and most established charity organisation that provides home healthcare, has launched its very first mooncake fundraiser campaign titled ‘Light Up Our Patients’ Homes This Mooncake Festival‘.

In partnership with Tasty Plantation, a group of stay home mummies, the campaign aims to raise funds and light up the homes of HNF’s patients.

For every donation of S$100 and above made, donors may choose to receive a box of mooncakes or give it away to HNF’s needy patients, one of whom is 74-year-old Mdm Oh Pang, a single elderly living in her one-room flat in Ang Mo Kio.

Although Mdm Oh is an amputee who lives on public assistance, she is a friendly neighbour who enjoys lending a helping hand to the seniors living around her.

What better way to bring cheer to Mdm Oh by dedicating a box (or boxes) of mooncakes to her, as she would love to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by sharing the yummy mooncakes with her beloved neighbours.

Those interested to support this campaign may make a donation of S$100 here.

Each box contains four pieces of classic baked mooncakes, as well as a ‘Thank You’ card featuring marbled art designed by HNF’s patients.

The delectable, handcrafted pastries are available in local favourite flavour – classic white lotus paste with single egg yolk and melon seeds. Made with low sugar ingredients, these mooncakes will appeal to health-conscious mooncake lovers as families and friends get together for a lovely indulgence to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival.

The mooncakes are available for collection after 21 September. Donors may choose to self-collect or give away to HNF’s senior beneficiaries.

The ‘Light Up Our Patients’ Homes This Mooncake Festival‘ campaign, which started on 7 September, will be ending in about two weeks’ time (24 September).
