As of Friday noon (4 Sep), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 40 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 56,948.

There are no cases in the community.

There are three imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Of the new cases, 93% are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

MOH noted that it has contacted 254 individuals who had visited SLR Revolution at Excelsior Shopping Centre (5 Coleman Street) between 15 August and 18 August 2020, and facilitated COVID-19 testing for them. This is a precautionary measure following the detection of 3 cases (Cases 56184, 56626 and 56826) who had worked at or visited the shop, even though the risk of infection for visitors is assessed to be low.

So far, a total of 250 individuals have been tested, and all the results have come back negative for COVID-19. MOH is facilitating testing for the remaining 4 individuals who have yet to be swabbed.

One new cluster identified

  1. 33 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at Blue Stars Dormitory (3 Kian Teck Lane).

Update on condition of confirmed cases

146 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 56,174 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 51 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 696 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

27 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
