As of Wednesday noon (2 Sep), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 49 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 56,901.

There are three cases in the community, of whom one is a Singaporean and two are Work Pass holders.

In addition, there are three imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Of the new cases, 82% are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

The MOH also revised the city-state’s tally down from 56,901 to 56,860, with 41 cases being removed after being “verified to be negative for COVID-19 following further investigations”

Three new clusters identified

  1. Six previous cases are linked to form a new cluster at Changi Lodge II (80 Tanah Merah Coast Road).
  2. Seven previous cases are linked to form a new cluster at North Coast Lodge (51 North Coast Avenue).
  3. Two of the newly confirmed cases are linked to five previous cases to form a new cluster at Toh Guan Dormitory (19A Toh Guan Road East).

Update on condition of confirmed cases

142 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 55,891 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 75 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 867 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

27 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
