As of Friday noon (28 Aug), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 94 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total number of infection cases to 56,666.
There are four cases in the community, all of whom are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents.
In addition, there are 10 imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
Among the 80 cases residing in dormitories today, 58 are from Sungei Tengah Lodge, who had all been placed on quarantine earlier.
Of the new cases, 97% are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
MOH has been monitoring existing clusters for any further transmission. As there have been no more cases linked to Bukit Panjang Integrated Transport Hub (15 Petir Road) for the past two incubation periods (i.e. 28 days), the cluster has now been closed.
No new clusters were identified.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
198 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 55,337 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 71 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 1,231 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
27 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
