A video was circulating social media on Friday (21 Aug) showing a man being tased by a police officer before standing up running away with several officers chasing behind him.
The incident happened in the middle of the road at Esplanade Drive which was full of oncoming traffic.
In the video as seen by TOC, about five police officers can be seen confronting a man in the middle of the road while he was continuously backing away from them with one hand up in the air.
The man then tried to run away, and was eventually tackled by the police officers.
While in another video shared by All Singapore Stuff , the man can be seen walking towards the police before one of the officers tased him, causing the man to fall to the ground.
After a second, the man managed to get back up and tried to walk towards a black car parked nearby at the road side.
The man can later be seen punching a police officer as they tried to stop him from running away.
After punching the police, the man then ran away from them while taking off his shirt, with the police chasing behind him.
The video quickly circulated around social media as soon as it was posted, with many netizens questioning the competence of the police in handling the incident.
There are no details yet as to what triggered the incident.
