In an operation conducted by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Tuesday (11 Aug), a total of five men and one woman were arrested for suspected drug activities.

The arrested were five Singaporeans and one Malaysian, aged between 25 and 60.

According to a statement by the CNB yesterday (12 Aug), a total of about 608g of methamphetamine “Ice”, 9g of heroin, 14,970 Erimin-5 tablets, 2g of ketamine, and three “Ecstacy” tablets were seized.

Cash amounting to S$7,600 was recovered during the operation, and the drugs that were seized are estimated to be worth about S$423,000.

It was reported that in the late evening of 11 August, the CNB officers arrested a 60-year-old Singaporean male, a 40-year-old Malaysian male, as well as a 49-year-old Singaporean male during a raid at a hideout near Geylang Lorong 4.

The CNB officers managed to find three packets containing about 45g of “Ice”, 33 cartons and six packs of contraband cigarettes from the unit. The packets of “Ice” were recovered from a locker in the raided unit.

Following the raid in the vicinity of Geylang Lorong 4, the CNB officers arrested two Singaporean males, aged 25 and 35, in a car driven by the former in the vicinity of Jalan Besar.

A total of about 7g of “Ice”, about 9g of heroin, 1,000 Erimin-5 tablets, and three “Ecstacy” tablets were seized from the 35-year-old. On the other hand, cash amounting to S$7,600 was recovered from the 25-year-old.

A 27-year-old Singaporean female was then arrested after the 25-year-old male was brought back to his hideout. The hideout was located at a hotel in the vicinity of Beach Road.

A total of about 556g of “Ice”, 13,970 Erimin-5 tablets, and about 2g of ketamine was found at the hotel hideout.

The officials reported that the investigations into the drug activities of all the suspects are still ongoing.

The total amount of 608g of “Ice” that was seized in this operation is sufficient to feed the addiction of about 347 abusers for a week.
