The Progress Singapore Party (PSP) has announced a restructuring of the party’s committee. This follows after party Assistant Secretary-General Leong Mun Wai and Vice-Chairman Hazel Poa stepped down from their respective roles to take on Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) seats last month. They are now the party’s Parliament Secretariat.

The new PSP line-up also sees Francis Yuen as the Assistant Secretary-General, Michael Chua as Organisation Secretariat, and Ong Seow Yong as Head of Communications & Media.

Kumaran Pillai is the party’s Media Liaison while Harish Pillay is in charge of IT & Data Security.

Damien Tay is Admin & Log while Wendy Low is in charge of the party’s Women’s Wing.

The youngest member, Terence Soon, is Head of PSP’s Youth Wing.

The new line up was announced on Tuesday on the party’s official Facebook page without much fanfare.

Dr Tan Cheng Bock, who is in his eighties, will apparently stay on as the party’s Secretary-General while the Vice Chairman spot remains vacant for now.

PSP is one of the youngest political parties in Singapore, founded by Dr Tan only about a year before the recent General Election (GE) was called.

Even so, the party fielded the second most number of candidates in GE2020 after the People’s Action Party (PAP) and managed to garner enough votes to earn two NCMP spots.
