GE2020: Kenneth Jeyaretnam says Reform Party results are respectable despite obstacles
In a media interview after results were announced for Radin Mas Single-Member Constituency (SMC), the Reform’s Party’s (RP) leader Kenneth Jeyaretnam said that he is “pleased” with the party’s results as they faced obstacles, such as the General Election being held during the COVID-19 crisis.
Mr Jeyaretnam shared his specific thoughts on Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency (GRC) where his team won only about 30 per cent of the votes at sample counting stage.
“Ang Mo Kio is the biggest GRC, with 185, 261 voters. It is hard to cover (the GRC),” he said, adding that Singaporeans can see that “RP is a party of substance” with its manifesto and ideas.
As for his party’s plans moving moving, Mr Jeyaretnam assured that RP is going to continue walking the grounds because they are here for the long haul.
“We are also conducting focus groups to (see how) to take our manifesto forward,” he added.
