I am glad that Tan Cheng Bok has publicly said that the People’s Action Party is indulging in gutter politics regarding the complaint against Raeesah Khan.
I don’t even see the need for Raeesah Khan to apologise for her note written more than two years ago. The entire episode smell of a conspiracy to damage the chances of her team winning Sengkang GRC. I hope the constituents of Sengkang see through the plot and vote against the PAP.
A report was lodged against Heng Swee Keat for saying that Singaporeans are not ready for an Indian prime minister. Swiftly the police and Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) announced that no offence has been committed. What nonsense is this? Why such a speedy response?
Under normal circumstances, those complained against would have to be served a letter personally delivered to them at their homes or a phone call made to them that they present themselves at a particular police station. Why wasn’t Heng given the same treatment?
What about the complaint lodged by Terry Xu against Critical Spectator?
What is the AGC’s advice to the police? Has that Polish man been hauled up to the police station?
The police in seeking the opinion of the AGC so speedily on the complaint against Heng Swee Keat shows that they are too anxious to clear his name before polling day. If this is not so, the police owes the public an explanation.
