On Tuesday morning (7 July), Dr Tan Cheng Bock greeted residents at Bukit Merah Food Market.

He interacted with the morning crowd as he thanked them for their support.

Dr Tan, secretary-general of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP), is contesting in West Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC), which is where the food market is located.

Yesterday (7 July), PSP West Coast posted a video on Facebook which showed crowds gathering spontaneously when PSP arrived at the scene for its walkabout – even though the party’s walkabout locations were not announced beforehand.

The last eight days of campaigning had seen Dr Tan embroiled in many issues with the People’s Action Party (PAP). These include the expansion of non-constituency member of parliament seats, PSP posters at West Coast being torn down, and challenging PAP in a televised debate.

In fact, just earlier today during a doorstep interview with the media at Bukit Merah, he called out the PAP for engaging in fear-mongering and gutter politics.
