Red Dot United (RDU) connected with constituents of Jurong Group Representation Constituency during their walkabout on Wednesday evening (1 July). 

TOC correspondents captured photos of the five-member team handing out campaign flyers and speaking with residents at coffee shops, outside mini-marts, and under void decks around Clementi Ave 2 Shopping Centre. 

RDU will be contesting in the coming General Election for the first time as the newest political party to be formed on 15 June. They will be running against the People’s Action Party (PAP), which is fielding: 

  • Tharman Shanmugaratnam, 63 [leading the PAP team]
  • Tan Wu Meng, 45, senior parliamentary secretary for Trade and Industry and Foreign Affairs
  • Rahayu Mahzam, 39, backbencher and lawyer
  • Xie Yao Quan, 35, head of healthcare redesign at Alexandra Hospital
  • Shawn Huang, 37, director for enterprise development at Temasek International

The five-member team for RDU includes:

  • Secretary-general Ravi Philemon, 52
  • Chairperson Michelle Lee, 43
  • Alec Tok Kim Yam, 55, theatre director
  • Liyana Dhamirah, 33, entrepreneur and author
  • Nicholas Tang, 28, legal engineer
