As of Wednesday noon (24 June), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 191 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 42,623.

There are seven cases in the community. Of these, two are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents, while the other five are Work Pass holders.

MOH shared that the vast majority of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.

There are no imported cases today.

Two new clusters identified

  1. Three of the newly confirmed cases are linked to form a new cluster at Keppel Shipyard (51 Pioneer Sector 1).
  2. Five of the newly confirmed cases are linked to two previous cases to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 52 Tech Park Crescent.

Cases from public healthcare sector

Case 42594 is a 31-year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 23 June and is currently warded at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH).

Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work as a nurse at NTFGH.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

304 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 36,299 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 189 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 1 is in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 6,109 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

26 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
