As of Tuesday noon (23 June), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 119 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 42,432.

There are three cases in the community. Of these, one is a Permanent Resident, while the other two are Work Pass holders.

MOH shared that the vast majority of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.

There are no imported cases today.

No new clusters identified.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

405 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 35,995 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 192 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 1 is in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 6,219 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

26 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

Case 28388, a 48-year-old male Indian national, has passed away on 23 June 2020. He had been sent to the emergency department at Singapore General Hospital after fainting in the early morning of 23 June at a temporary housing site for migrant workers. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 15 May and had recovered from the infection.

The cause of death was ischaemic heart disease.
