As of Sunday noon (14 June), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 407 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infected cases to 40,604.

MOH shares that the vast majority of whom are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Based on MOH’s investigations, there are 9 cases in the community, of whom 4 are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents and 5 are Work Pass holders.

There is an imported case involving a Bangladeshi national who arrived in Singapore on 10 June to seek medical treatment that is not related to COVID-19 infection.

His health declaration submitted before immigration clearance indicated he did not have any COVID-19 symptoms and had not been diagnosed or suspected to have COVID-19 infection. He was placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore, and could only leave his designated place of residence for medical consultation and follow-up. He was subsequently tested for COVID-19 after arrival in Singapore and his results came back positive on 13 June.

Contact tracing is ongoing and identified close contacts have been placed on quarantine.

Of the new cases, 99% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

No new clusters are identified.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

781 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 29,589 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 238 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 2 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 10,751 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

26 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
