MOH confirms 422 new cases of COVID-19 infection; Total tally at 39,387

As of Thursday noon (11 June), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 422 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 39,387.

There are five cases in the community. Of these, one is a Singaporean, while four are work pass holders.

MOH shared that the vast majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.

There are no imported cases today.

Of the new cases, 99% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

Six new clusters identified

1. Three of the newly confirmed cases are linked to one previous case to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 15 Kaki Bukit Crescent.
2. One of the newly confirmed cases is linked to four previous cases to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 9 Kian Teck Drive.
3. 44 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 1A Pioneer Sector Walk.
4. One of the newly confirmed cases is linked to 22 previous cases to form a new cluster at a dormitory at Potong Pasir Avenue 1.
5. 22 of the newly confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 214 Tagore Lane.
6. Four of the newly confirmed cases are linked to two previous cases to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 200A Tuas South Boulevard.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

754 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 27,286 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 227 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 2 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 11,849 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

25 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

Case 39327, a 44-year-old male Indian national, has passed away on 8 June 2020. He had developed chest and epigastric pain on 28 May and had sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner clinic. He was found unconscious at his place of residence on 8 June and conveyed to Singapore General Hospital’s emergency department.

He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 10 June after his demise. The cause of death was ischaemic heart disease.
