MOH confirms 218 new cases of COVID-19 infection; Total tally at 38,514
As of Tuesday noon (9 June), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 218 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total number of infection cases to 38,514.
There are six cases in the community, all of whom are work pass holders. There are no Singaporean/Permanent Resident cases.
MOH shared that the vast majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.
There are no imported cases today.
Of the new cases, 97% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
One new cluster identified
- Two of the newly confirmed cases are linked to 32 previous cases to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 145 Tuas View Square.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
509 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 25,877 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 248 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 3 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
12,364 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
25 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
