淡马锡旗下子公司 出资救太平船务
据国际海事媒体报导，淡马锡全资子公司海丽凯资本（Heliconia Capital Management）据称有意对深陷财务困境的太平船务（PIL），注资至少4亿美元（约5.65亿新元）。
知情人士指出，海丽凯资本可能通过收购股权和债务向处于困境中的太平船务注资。不过目前仅在初步阶段，相信未来几周才会商定细节。
知情人士分析，海丽凯资本迫切入股太平船务，有可能是为了保障新加坡在冠病疫情下的食品供应物流。
据《华尔街邮报》早前曾指，太平船务最大债权人，包括星展集团和盘谷银行，曝险分别约为2.6亿美元和2.2亿美元。两年前，太平船务也通过淡马锡旗下的狮诚控股（SeaTown Holdings）获得贷款。同时，还有一笔6千万元在今年11月到期的债券。
据称，太平船务正与15家债权人就债务问题进行磋商，并已和绝大多数债权人达成一致，将本金和利息的支付时间，推迟至年底。同时，与尚未同意解决债务问题的债权人，进行进一步沟通。
今年3月，太平船务完成最后一次跨太平航线运营后，正式退出跨太平洋航线市场，转而将业务重心放在中东/红海、印度次大陆、非洲、拉丁美洲和大洋洲等南北贸易航线上。
由前官委议员领导
太平船务由张松声领导，后者在2009年至2014期间担任官委议员，2009年至2013年担任中华总商会会长。
2010年获颁公共服务奖章，2019年则获颁公共服务星章（BBM）。
4月初曾驳斥“破产”流言
4月初，该公司还针对“太平船务将申请破产”等网上相关虚假信息，发出严正声明。
2016年，淡马锡出售东方海皇集团（NOL），就远离航运业务。
