As of Monday noon (1 June), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 408 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 35,292.

There are no community cases today and 408 cases announced involving Work Permit holders residing inside and outside dormitories.

There are no imported cases today.

All the new cases are linked to known clusters.

Three new clusters identified

  1. Four of the newly confirmed cases are linked to 163 previous cases to form a new cluster at HSJV Dormitory (33A Tanah Merah Coast Road).
  2. Three of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 10 Tuas South Street 12.
  3. Seven of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at a dormitory at 109 Tuas View Walk 1.

24th death due to COVID-19

Case 17329, a 51-year-old male Chinese national, has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on 31 May 2020.

He was diagnosed with lymphoma complicated by multi-organ failure while he had been warded in the intensive care unit in end-April. Despite being treated for lymphoma, his condition had deteriorated and he subsequently passed on.

He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 1 May.

The National University Hospital has reached out to his family and is extending assistance to them.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

767 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 22,466 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 344 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 7 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

12,458 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

24 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
