As of Tuesday noon (19 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed additional cases 451 of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total tally of infected cases to 28,794.
There is only one case of community infection, who is a Singaporean/Permanent Resident. Another 450 cases involving Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.
There are no imported cases today.
Of the new cases, 99% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
Two new clusters identified
- Eight of the newly confirmed cases are linked to seven previous cases to form a new cluster at 2 Sungei Kadut Street 4.
- Four of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 13 Kaki Bukit Road 4.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
530 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 10,365 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 1,004 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 10 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
17,403 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
22 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
