As part of an initial pledge to provide 30,000 meals to Singaporeans, TiffinLabs is partnering with Singapore General Hospital (SGH) to provide 5,000 hot meals to healthcare workers leading the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under this four-week initiative, the foodtech company will prepare and deliver hot meals daily to SGH staff during lunch and dinner services. The first delivery took place earlier on Monday (11 May).
As part of the menu offering, TiffinLabs has developed a special Mee Goreng dish. Created by local TiffinLabs Chef Marcus Quek, each plate of Mee Goreng is prepared with a special sauce made up of sambal jam, soy sauce, and garlic.

Mee Goreng is one of Singapore’s best known and loved dishes, and it was a privilege for me to try to create the best tasting Mee Goreng recipe for our frontline workers at Singapore General Hospital. We are all so grateful for their hard work and for putting themselves at risk every day. I must admit I am very anxious to see if the staff like it,” said Chef Marcus Quek.

“We are truly humbled by all the positive responses from Singaporeans following the launch of the ‘Food is Love’ Foundation. Since then, we have received requests from organisations and donors to scale the program to help more people, and we are committed to working on this. We are honoured that we can support the team at SGH who have worked tirelessly to get us through these tough times,” noted Sam Ahmed, co-founder of TiffinLabs.

This initiative is fully supported by TiffinLabs’ ‘Food is Love’ Foundation, which was established to help low-income families that are facing food insecurity.
Other Foundation initiatives include a partnership with local charity Free Food For All to deliver 20,000 meals to families and individuals who have experienced job displacement due to COVID-19.
