Daniel Teo in one of the PSP walkabouts prior to the circuit breaker measures.

The saga between Progress Singapore Party (PSP) and its sacked member, Daniel Teo seems to have come to a close yesterday after it announced that it acknowledges the apology issued by Teo on 9 May.
It also wrote that it is satisfied that the members implicated in “this libelous accusation are all exonerated and are innocent.”

It emphasised in its statement that the party frowns upon the use of ‘dirty politics’ leading up to the General Election date and will stand united against any false slanderous attacks upon its members.
On 1 May, a short clip made the rounds online which claimed that the PSP, led by Dr Tan Cheng Bock, has been “infiltrated by foreign proxies”. On that same day, PSP announced that it had expelled Mr Teo after his admission.
Subsequently on 9 May, Teo issued a public apology to the members and associated individuals with the party on his Facebook page.
He wrote that he “admit and acknowledge that these allegations are false and without basis” and that he unreservedly withdraw the allegations.

Just earlier, Teo had also issued an apology to Mr Jose Raymond, Chairman of Singapore People’s Party on Teo’s Facebook page. Mr Raymond accepted the apology and had Teo make a donation to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund for an amount equivalent to the sum required for publishing an apology in The Straits Times.
