As of Thursday noon (7 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 741 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total tally of infected cases to 20,939.
There are 7 cases of community infection (5 Singaporeans/Permanent Residents, 2 Work Passes), 9 cases involving Work Permit holders residing outside dormitories and 725 cases involving Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.
There are no imported cases today.
Of the new cases, 87% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
Six new clusters identified

  1. Eight of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 5 Sixth Lok Yang Road.
  2. 31 of the newly confirmed cases are linked to form a new cluster at 98 Kaki Bukit Industrial Terrace.
  3. 42 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 4 Sungei Kadut Avenue.
  4. Two of the newly confirmed cases are linked to 38 previous cases to form a new cluster at 5 Tech Park Crescent.
  5. One of the newly confirmed cases is linked to 14 previous cases to form a new cluster at 3 Tuas Drive 1.
  6. Six of the newly confirmed cases are linked to a new cluster at 52 Tuas View Square.

Cases from the public healthcare sector
Case 20737 is a 33-year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 6 May and is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
Prior to hospital admission, she had gone to work for a few hours as a healthcare assistant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Case 20844 is a 43-year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 7 May and is currently warded at NCID.
10. Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work as a radiographer at the community care facility at Singapore EXPO.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

78 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
In all, 1,712 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 1,376 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 19 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
17,831 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
20 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
