As of Tuesday noon (5 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 632 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total tally of infected cases to 19,410.
There are 12 cases of community infection (8 Singaporeans/Permanent Residents, 4 Work Passes), 15 cases involving Work Permit holders residing outside dormitories and 605 cases involving Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.
There are no imported cases today.
Of the new cases, 97% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
Nine new clusters identified

  1. 16 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 60 Benoi Road.
  2. Six of the newly confirmed cases are linked to one previous case to form a new cluster at 100A Central Boulevard.
  3. 27 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at a construction site at Clementi N2C3.
  4. 11 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 1 North Coast Drive.
  5. Eight of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 31 Sungei Kadut Loop.
  6. Six of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 9 Tech Park Crescent.
  7. 16 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 80 Tuas Avenue 1.
  8. Three of the newly confirmed cases are now linked to eight previous cases to form a new cluster at 15 Tuas View Close.
  9. Two of the newly confirmed cases are linked to four previous cases to form a new cluster at 131 Tuas View Square.

Cases from public healthcare sector
Case 19360 is a 20-year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 5 May and is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.
Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work as a nurse at the community care facility at Singapore EXPO.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
62 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
In all, 1,519 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 1,584 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 24 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
16,289 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
18 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
Death of Case 16370
Case 16370, a 44-year-old male Bangladeshi national, has passed away on 5 May. He had been admitted to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital on 29 April and treated for a heart attack, and was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on the same day. The cause of death is acute myocardial infarction.
