As of Sunday noon (3 May 2020), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified an additional 657 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total tally in Singapore to 18,205.
There are 13 cases of community infection (10 Singaporeans/Permanent Residents, 3 Work Passes), 18 cases involving Work Permit holders residing outside dormitories and 626 cases involving Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.
There are no imported cases today.
Of the new cases, 87% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
Six new clusters identified

  1. Three of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at NCS Hub (5 Ang Mo Kio Street 62).
  2. Nine of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at 16 Fan Yoong Road.
  3. 11 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at 15 Gul Way.
  4. 29 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at 23 Sungei Kadut Street 2.
  5. 24 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at 9A Tech Park Crescent.
  6. 11 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at 64 Woodlands Industrial Park E9.

18th death from complications due to COVID-19 infection
MOH announced Case 14744, an 86 year-old female Singapore Citizen, as the 18th death from complications due to COVID-19 infection. She is said to have passed away on 3 May 2020 and was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 27 April. She is said to have had a history of diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidaemia. Khoo Teck Puat Hospital has reached out to her family and is extending assistance to them.
Cases from public healthcare sector
Case 17881 is a 34 year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 2 May, and is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.
She is employed as a nurse by the Health Promotion Board and is deployed to the community care facility at Singapore EXPO, but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
61 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 1,408 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
There are currently 1,630 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 22 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
15,149 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19. 18 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
The cause of death for Case 17410 who was mentioned in yesterday’s daily report, is said to be due to ischaemic heart disease.
