The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Fri (24 Apr) has confirmed an additional 897 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore as of 12 pm today.
Of the new cases, 13 are Singaporeans and permanent residents, while the rest comprises migrant workers living in dormitories.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Singapore to 12,075.
There are no imported cases today.
The number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 31 cases per day in the week before to an average of 25 per day in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased, from an average of 20 cases per day in the week before to an average of 17 per day in the past week.
Of the new cases, 68% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
Nine new clusters have been identified. They are:

  1. Alaunia Lodge (Admiralty Road West).
  2. SSKBJV Dormitory (31A Tanah Merah Coast Road).
  3. Westlite Juniper (23 Mandai Estate).
  4. Natureland East Coast (907 East Coast Road).
  5. Strand Hotel (25 Bencoolen Street).
  6. 112 Neythal Road.
  7. 10 Shaw Road.
  8. 2 Sungei Kadut Avenue.
  9. 11 Tuas Avenue 10.

Cases from public healthcare sector
Case 11580
is a 43-year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. She reported onset of symptoms on 20 April, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 23 April. She is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.
She is employed as a nurse at Bukit Merah Polyclinic but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
38 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 956 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
There are currently 1,229 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 24 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
9,878 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
12 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
Death of Case 8190
The cause of death for Case 8190 was multiple injuries consistent with those resulting from a fall from a height, and was not due to complications from COVID-19 infection.
