The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Thu (23 Apr) has confirmed an additional 1,037 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore as of 12 pm today.
Of the new cases, 21 are Singaporeans and permanent residents, while the rest comprises migrant workers living in dormitories.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Singapore to 11,178.
There are no imported cases today.
The number of new cases amongst Work Permit holders residing outside dormitories has continued to increase, from an average of 16 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 30 per day in the past week.
The main increase today continues to be for Work Permit holders residing in dormitories, where the government is picking up many more cases because of extensive testing. Most of these cases have a mild illness and are being monitored in the community isolation facilities or general ward of the hospitals. None of them is in the intensive care unit.
Of the new cases, 75% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
Six new clusters have been identified. They are:

  1. Blue Stars Dormitory (3 Kian Teck Lane).
  2. Hulett Dormitory (20 Senoko Drive).
  3. Seatown Dormitory (69H Tuas South Avenue 1).
  4. Woodlands Dormitory (27 Woodlands Sector 1).
  5. 12 Loyang Drive.
  6. 59 Sungei Kadut Loop.

Update on condition of confirmed cases
36 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
In all, 924 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
As the care protocols adapt based on the government’s understanding of the disease, it has re-categorised the confirmed cases to more accurately reflect where the confirmed cases are being cared for.
There are currently 1,368 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 26 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 8,874 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
