A long waiting queue was seen outside of the Ding Tai Fung restaurant at Seletar Mall, spurring resentment among the customers and food delivery riders.
As seen in the video posted on the Facebook page of All Singapore Stuff last Friday (17 April), a bunch of people, including food delivery riders was waiting outside of the restaurant maintaining a safe distance between each other.
It can be seen that only three staff working at the restaurant’s counter and busy answering call.
Then, a man expressed his resentful over the slow orders from the restaurant, asking why there was only three orders that came out in one hour.
Some others can also be heard complaining at the restaurant, saying the staff should stop taking orders if they could handle the overwhelming food orders.

A Facebook user had wrote to the same outlet earlier, lamenting their poor coordination for collection of takeaway, as he has to wait longer than the restaurant allocated time for his takeaway.

Meanwhile, Ding Tai Fung Singapore took to its Facebook on 15 April, announcing new food deals and promotions in their restaurant, which seems to be a marketing strategy to boost its businesses during the circuit breaker measure implemented against COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Ding Tai Fung, it has adopted a “Call & Collect” service for its new deals, where the customers can pick up their takeaway at the allocated time received from the staff when they call to take order in advance.
The staggered collection time, it said was to remain their customers’ safety as first priority.
In its post, Ding Tai Fung also apologised for issues which have caused some customers to be “disappointed” for its service.
It wrote, “Our team has been working tirelessly to fulfil your orders, while practicing adherence to safe distancing guidelines and an adjusted manpower strength. Inadvertently, some of you have been disappointed along the way. We are sorry for this.”
“Your feedback has been crucial in helping us to swiftly identify operational gaps, and we seek your patience and understanding as we work continuously toward smoothening out existing issues,” the post read.
