Sungei Tengah Lodge becomes fourth migrant workers' dormitory gazetted as isolation area

Sungei Tengah Lodge has been declared as the fourth migrant worker dormitory to be gazetted as an isolation area, following an additional 11 COVID-19 cases linked to the cluster at the dormitory.
The declaration, according to a notice by the Ministry of Health in the Government Gazette on Wed (8 Apr), was made under the Infectious Diseases Act “for the purpose of preventing the spread or possible outbreak of the infectious disease Covid-19”.
The notice took effect at midnight on Thu (9 Apr).
506 Old Choa Chu Kang Road and 512 Old Choa Chu Kang Road were classified as premises placed under isolation.
29 cases were traced to the Sungei Tengah Lodge cluster as of Wed.
Previously, the S11 Dormitory @ Punggol and Westlite Toh Guan were gazetted as isolation areas for migrant workers last Sun, while the third dormitory — Toh Guan Dormitory — was announced as an isolation area the next day.
S11 Dormitory has to date recorded 118 cases in total, while Westlite Toh Guan has a total of 38 confirmed cases. Toh Guan Dormitory has recorded a total of 23 cases.
