CNN host Christopher Cuomo, who has been tested positive with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), recently revealed that he has been having hallucinations about his deceased father.
Mr Cuomo said that on top of hallucinating about the late Mario Cuomo, a former New York Governor, he has also been suffering from “fever, chills and shortness of breath”.
“I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus. I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive … I just hope I didn’t give it to the kids and Cristina,” he wrote in an Instagram post on 31 Mar, referring to his wife.
Mr Cuomo added that he is currently “quarantined in my basement” and will continue working from home.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve had a fever, you’ve had a fever. But 102, 103, 103 (degrees) plus, that wouldn’t quit. And it was like somebody was beating me like a pinata. I was shivering so much that I chipped my tooth,” he said.
“I was up all night. I was hallucinating. I saw that my dad was talking to me. I was seeing people from college, the people I haven’t seen forever. It was freaky, what I lived through last night. And it might happen again tonight,” Mr Cuomo added.

Mr Cuomo had also urged the public to not only stay at home during this pandemic but to also “stay on our leaders to make sure they’re doing everything they can to limit this”.
“This is the part of our lives we will live through and remember the most, how do you want to be remembered during this time?” he stressed.
Mr Cuomo’s case marks the third of confirmed COVID-19 cases involving CNN’s workspace in New York City, according to CNN.
Like other media companies, a majority of CNN’s employees have been working from home for several weeks. The channel’s news anchors have been broadcasting from small studios and home offices, while office spaces are reportedly being cleaned regularly.
