在碧山车厂发生意外 SMRT技术员送院后不治
今早（23日），碧山车厂发生一宗不幸意外，一名SMRT技术员身受重伤，紧急送往医院，然而回天乏术，今早11时20分宣告不治身亡。
今早9时20分，上述技术员穆哈默阿菲（Muhammad Afiq bin Senawi）在碧山车厂操作液压仪器时，不幸发生意外，现场工作人员立即施救并将他送院。
SMRT集团总裁梁建鸿向媒体发文告，对于不幸逝世员工表达沉痛哀悼，并表示将给予该名员工家属协助。
目前，SMRT公司正协助陆路交通管理局、警方、人力部等各造针对事故展开调查。调查期间为安全期间已暂停相关维修工作。
2016年致命意外
回溯2016年3月，巴西立地铁站附近轨道发生致命意外，两名维修学员（24岁的Muhammad Asyraf Ahmad Buhari，以及26岁的Nasrulhudin Najumudin）在靠近巴西立站的轨道上惨被迎面而来的列车撞死。他们加入SMRT才两个月，事发时正接受在职训练。
SMRT的前工程师林瑞兴（Lim Say Heng译音），因疏忽导致两名维修职员身亡，承认疏忽行为导致他人死亡罪，在2018年3月被判四周监禁。
