马国国防部高级部长依斯迈沙比里（Ismail Sabri）表示，新马双方仍在商讨马国客工返回新加坡工作岗位的事宜。 他献议，若新加坡方面能提供住宿，马国或考虑让30万马劳继续前来我国工作。 “我们正在商讨此事，并建议近30万名马国客工将被允许继续在狮城工作，条件是必须为他们准备住宿。” 根据马国媒体报导，依斯迈是在今早出席行动限制令特别部长会议后，向记者这么表示。 马国在18日起落实行动限制令后，禁止国人出国，外国游客也不得入境。这使得许多在新加坡工作的马国客工，赶在“锁国”前涌入我国。不少雇主不得不仓促安排住宿，甚至有者被迫露宿地铁站。 所幸不少热心人士和团体协助这些客工解燃眉之急，让他们在为期两周的“锁国”令下，暂时在新加坡找到临时住宿，不至于丢了工作。
