GYMMBOXX, a local gym franchise has informed its members this morning that its outlet in Bishan will be closed immediately today as they have been informed by the Ministry of Health that one of their members in the said outlet was diagnosed with COVID-19 late on 22 February 2020.

The gym which is situated in Bishan Community Centre, will be disinfected by a National Environmental Agency appointed agent, assured GYMMBOXX in its public announcement on its Facebook page.

“This will ensure that all equipment in the gym will be safe for the future use of our valued members and guests. Once all the necessary steps have been taken, we will re-open the gym.” wrote the gym franchise.

When asked by other members about the last visit of the said member, GYMMBOXX clarified in a comment that the said member has not visited the gym since 6 February 2020.

“We will work with the relevant authorities for further investigation if necessary. Rest assured that we will provide further updates deemed necessary by the relevant authorities.”

As of yesterday, 12pm there is a total of 89 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore after three new cases were announced last night.

If what GYMMBOXX said is true about their member being diagnosed with COVID-19 only in late night is true, then this member has yet to be announced as a new case by MOH.

Update: MOH in its latest release said that there is no new cases of COVID-19 infection for Sunday.
