A new data partnership has been signed between the sports data company, Genius Sports and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). This partnership will underscore a “digital transformation drive” at FAS.
Player and team statistics at pitchside at all Singapore Premier League matches will be gathered by Genius Sport and then delivered to fans through live updates on the league’s social media channel and website.
On Saturday (22 Feb), the partnership came into effect, which is also the first day of the 2020 league season kicking off with the Community Shield match between Tampines Rovers and Hougang United.
FAS’s competition management platform will be integrated with Genius Sports’ data distribution and collection tools. According to the company, administrative processes would be simplified while historic data records of every game would be created.

In addition, it will also complement our existing digital marketing efforts and help to showcase the league as a modern and forward-thinking one,” the Director of Commercial and Marketing at the FAS, Jonathan Wong remarked.
The Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager for Asia at Genius Sports, Mohamed Feizel also echoed similarly that “coming shortly after our official incorporation in Singapore and first streaming deal in Asia, this partnership with the FAS is the latest exciting step in Genius Sports’ rapid growth in the region.
