One Raffles Quay South Tower (ORQ ST) is operating at the “highest level of precautionary measures” after an employee of its tenant was confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The building’s facilities management was informed about the infected case on 20 February and immediately circulated a notice of information to its tenants on the same day.

According to the circular, as a precaution, the tenant has been on a split operation a day after the employee’s last visit on 10 February, thus fewer of its employees have been in the building.

“The tenant has thoroughly disinfected their premises and the building operations team has taken immediate steps to disinfect and sanitize all common areas of ORQ ST in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) guidelines,” the circular read.

The facilities management is operating at the highest level of precautionary measures which includes high cleaning frequency of the common areas, lift lobbies, lift cars and toilets; temperature screening of individuals entering the building; restricted access to the building for high-risk individuals; deployment of hand sanitizer at all lift zones; and daily purging of air from the building.

The management also reminded tenants to stay vigilant, practice good personal hygiene, and stay updated with the latest health advisory and guidelines issued by the MOH.

In addition, the building operations team will also assist to discreetly escort any affected member to the designated isolation room.

“The well-being of our tenants and the ORQ community remains our top priority,” the management added.

As of yesterday (20 February), MOH has confirmed one additional case of COVID-19 infection which involved a 36-year-old male Chinese national with Singapore Work pass, bringing the total number of infected cases in Singapore to 85 cases to date.

Following that, 37 patients have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from the hospital. While most of the remaining infected patients in the hospital are stable, four patients are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
