There will be temperature checks at the entrance for all spectators, officials, and players who will be participating in the Chiam See Tong Sports Fund (CSTSF) Charity Shield 2020 match taking place tonight (31 Jan) at Our Tampines Hub (OTH).

The match will feature the Celebrities Sports Club and the Singapore Ex-Internationals. Celebrities Hady Mirza, Zheng Ge Ping (Tay Kok Peng), Devarajan Varadarajan, alongside former Singapore international footballers Iike Nazri Nasir, Indra Sahdan, Mohd Noor Ali, and Mohd Rezal Hassan will be participating in match to raise funds for the CSTSF.

As of 29 January 2020, more than 200 tickets have been snapped up for the match, and organisers are expecting another 200 fans to purchase tickets at the door on match day.

“We have to take the necessary precautions given the current circumstances, and hope for all attendees to bear with us for any inconvenience caused,” said Mr Jose Raymond, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the CSTSF Charity Shield 2020.

“We would also like to advise all fans who have purchased tickets to stay at home if they are feeling unwell, and we will take the necessary steps to refund them for what they have spent on tickets, where necessary,” he added.

The CSTSF Charity Shield is supported by Eugene Thuraisingam LLP (ETLLP).

Mr Eugene Thuraisingam, managing partner of ETLLP, said, “We are honoured to support this event to raise funds to help our athletes achieve their sporting dreams. A lot of effort and work has gone into organising the match to raise funds for the Chiam See Tong Sports Fund. Given the current concerns surrounding the coronavirus, the organisers have also taken additional measures to ensure a safe environment for all.”

Spectators are advised to head to the OTH early to avoid delays at the door due to the temperature screening.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and do seek the understanding of all our partners and fans over the preventive measures which we have put in place for the fundraiser,” remarked Mr Raymond.

Former Singapore Idol and Asian Idol, Hady Mirza, said, “Tickets are still available for the match. Thank you very much for those of you who have purchased your tickets, and we look forward to seeing all of you at the Our Tampines Hub on 31 January.”

This will be the second consecutive year that the CSTSF is organising the football fundraiser. Tickets for the match cost S$20.00 and are available on Eventbrite. Members of the public can also email [email protected] for bulk purchases.

The match is set to kick off at 8.00pm.
