马来西亚自明年1月1日起，将会在饮食店全面禁烟，一旦被发现违规行为，将被开罚单。 马来西亚将于2020年1月1日，正式实施禁烟令。在禁烟区抽烟者将接到250令吉（约82元）的罚单。首次违规者若在罚单发出的一个月内缴交罚款，罚款可减少至150令吉（约49元）；第二次违规者，必须缴付全额罚款；违规三次或以上，将被罚款350令吉（约114.95元）。 马来西亚卫生总监拿督诺希山表示，根据2004年烟草产品管制条例第12条文，所有餐厅经营者必须确保店内无人抽烟，不得提供烟灰缸、售卖水烟以及其他抽烟用品，而且必须张贴禁烟告示牌。 一旦发现食肄业主首次或第二次违规，将被罚款250令吉。若违规三次以上将被罚款350令吉。 当地政府为保障人民健康，呼吁各单位的配合，确保烟草产品管制条例能够全面落实。 马来西亚自2019年1月1日开始，实行所有餐厅全面禁烟，餐饮业不允许设立吸烟区，烟民只可以到与餐馆距离10尺外的范围抽烟。
