陈清木圣诞前送温暖 访清寒家庭赠必需品

履行社会责任,圣诞前夕送温暖,新加坡前进党秘书长陈清木医生,在上周六(21日)偕同该党党员和志愿者,拜访清寒家庭并赠送生活必需品,让他们也能拥有一个丰富喜乐的圣诞和跨年夜。

不少前进党志工都乘着周末休假之便,抽空参与此善举。陈清木医生在脸书贴文分享,志工们拜访了金文泰、裕廊和文礼一带的清寒家庭。

陈清木也挨家逐户拜访这些家庭,其中不乏年长者和不良于行的障友。

许多网民和支持者也在脸书赞扬陈清木等人的善举,并留言祝福圣诞和新年快乐。

陈清木对于扶贫的立场

对于扶助国内清寒或较不幸群体,陈清木曾公开表示,尽管政府出台许多政策扶助贫穷群体,但眼下仍迫切做得更多。

今年9月10日,前进党举办《新加坡贫穷,社会安全网政策鸿沟》讲座,陈清木赞扬新加坡政府投资公司(GIC)前首席经济师杨南强,道出一个现实:许多国民即便只是要满足基本需求,也显得捉襟见肘。

“国人非常关注这问题,而杨南强先生则梳理这些问题的根源、范畴,以及一些迫切需要采用的政策解决方案。”

在上述讲座,曾担任国大李光耀公共政策研究所兼职教授的杨南强,也透露早在2007年,他就已展开跨部门调查探讨新加坡贫穷问题,“令我震惊和恐惧的是,我发现本土的贫穷状况,远比我想象的更糟糕。”
