A video recently emerged showing a delivery man helping an old lady cross the street, and it’s probably the most heartwarming thing on the Internet right now.
The video capturing the touching scene was uploaded by Nee Soon Town Council on its Facebook page last Friday (13th Dec). The uplifting moment took place at Yishun Central.
In the 13-second video, which was recorded by a passenger in a car, a delivery man on an electric bicycle can be seen assisting an old lady to cross the street at a careful pace.
A closer look as the video progresses reveals that the delivery man is carrying a green ‘GrabFood’ delivery bag. As for the old lady, she has one hand on a walking stick for support and another on the delivery man for balance.
What’s more, the roads do appear wet, most likely after a downpour in the area as raindrops can be spotted on the car windshield; hence, all the more any help would be of great appreciation as tragedy may befall the old lady attempting to cross the slippery road by herself.
At the time of writing, the video has garnered more than 10,000 views. Meanwhile, under the comment section, netizens commended the kind-hearted action of the delivery man for taking his time to lend a hand – figuratively and literally – to the old lady.
On a side note, PMD riders are rarely portrayed in a good light on social media. Just this November, PMDs were banned from travelling on footpaths in Singapore by the Ministry of Transport.
