不雅用语被列中学读物民意两极化 虽有寓意惟担忧学生“学坏”
《深夜小狗的神秘习题》(The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,简称深夜小狗)作为中二英文的扩展读物引起争议,然而教育部表示,该读物虽然不是当局推荐读物之一,但是却具有文化价值,更带出许多良好的道德价值观。
“新加坡捍卫婚姻与家庭”脸书群组(Singaporeans Defending Marriage and Family)于上周六帖文,批评名为《深夜小狗的神秘习题(The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time),简称深夜小狗》的书籍,指其使用了污言秽语,并且有可能违反新加坡种族和宗教和谐法令。
许多网民在《今日报》和《亚洲新闻台》脸书专页上留言,有者强调这仍是一本好书,并且不认为污言秽语是大问题。“这本书很出色,发人深省、非常有见地,也赢得很多奖项。”
有网民表示,此事件唯一有严重问题的是,“人们将它视为一本粗鄙读物的心态”。
部分网友则指出,孩子所接触到的污言秽语,主要来自媒体、游戏和网络。一名网友也指出,就算是小学生,他们也会学习到这些粗俗词语,因此他们在阅读到时可能就是笑一笑就过了。
也有网友指出,曾经看过教师,甚至是校长在下班后、或校外说“粗口”。
然而,有网民对该读物批评道,该读物拥有将粗俗词语在校园内和学生们之间正常化(“学坏”)的可能性。
有网民指出根本无法接受有关决定,并指出校方没有深入考量到该读物对学生带来的潜在负面影响下,不应该将它作为学生阅读、考试和分级的工具。
也有网民指出,世上有这么多书,为什么不禁止该含有粗俗用词及亵渎宗教的读物。
