Scoot wins its second “Best Low-Cost Carrier" award in a month

After flying past reigning champion AirAsia to take home the “Best Low-Cost Carrier” award at the TTG Travel Awards 2019 last month (26 Sep), Scoot has bagged another “Best Low-Cost Carrier” award, this time at the Travel Weekly Asia 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.
This marks the first time Scoot has won the award from Travel Weekly Asia. The winners are determined from votes cast by Travel Weekly Asia readers and industry professionals across Asia.
In a press release earlier today (16 Oct) announcing the good news, Scoot noted that scooping both the awards within a month “inspires the airline to continue driving initiatives that improve customer experience and encourage more people to venture beyond the familiar”.
Some of the initiatives include the recent removal of payment processing fees on all direct booking channels globally, the development of the first transactional chatbot by an Asian airline that also services customers’ queries, the introduction of off-the-beaten-track destinations such as Laos and Trivandrum, as well as the planned induction of a brand new A321neo fleet from the last quarter of 2020, among others.
What’s more, as part of its mission to encourage travellers to escape the ordinary, Scoot is introducing ‘The Yellow Converter‘ where customers can visit with any yellow-coloured item, to have it evaluated and converted into free Scoot flights (up for grabs daily), travel vouchers or merchandise.

“We are thrilled to have won back-to-back ‘Best Low-Cost Carrier’ awards and are thankful for our customers, travel partners, and staff, for their ongoing support. We will continue to work hard to exceed our customers’ expectations!” said Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer.
As an airline that is passionate about making travel attainable for all, we challenge you to come dressed in your most yellow outfit at The Yellow Converter this weekend, where the more yellow you have on, the more ‘currency’ you stand to gain to pay for your Scoot flights. I hope you will have fun and use this opportunity to further embrace the full potential of travelling!” he added.
