请员工收拾 马国《前锋报》走过八十载正式结业

马来西亚巫统喉舌报《马来西亚前锋报》(Utusan Malaysia)自今年8月传出面对经济困境的消息后,正式公布将于今天内停止营业。

《前锋报》出版商马国前锋报集团今天发出内部通知书,向所有员工宣布公司董事局于周一(10月7日)做出的决定,即批准债权人提出的自愿清盘计划,并且委任UHY Advisory KL担任临时清盘师。

有关的通告由《前锋报》执行主席Datuk Abd. Aziz Sheikh Fadzir 签署后发出,通告中显示今天将是员工们的最后一个工作日,而他们的聘约将于2019年10月31日结束。

通告上写道,该集团自2018年5月开始面对经济困境,虽然采取许多措施来扭转局势,包括指让该集团旗下约700名雇员接受了自愿离职计划(VSS)、脱售一些资产等。

“但是随着《Utusan Malaysia》和《Kosmo!》媒体发行量的下降,每月400万令吉的广告目标不达标之下,导致现金流状况危急。”

“除了拖欠员工薪资,集团还积累了债务,目前正面临债务人的各种行动。”

该集团员工也被要求于今天下午1时前,把桌位等工作台内个人物件清空,同时将门卡和办公室钥匙等公司的所有用具和资产交还给各部门主管。

网民感叹“党报的命运”

《前锋报》在其脸书网站上公布相关消息后,网民纷纷留言感叹,这个经营将近一个世纪的报业,也受不了经济环境的变迁,步入历史中了。

也有网民感叹道,当巫统失势时,《前锋报》的命运就可以预测到了,“这就是作为政党报的命运”。

今年8月,《前锋报》就曾传出将停刊的命运,不过随后调涨旗下两份报章价格后,仍维持继续出版。当时马国前首相纳吉曾表示,若希盟政府即刻解冻巫统的资金,巫统就能出手帮助两家媒体度过难关。他还促请人民给予帮助,购买这两家媒体。

作为马国最悠久的马来报章《前锋报》,拥有80年的历史,一向都是巫统对外的媒体平台。然而,随着巫统在509改朝换代中失去政权后,《前锋报》也面对财务困境。

我国首任总统是《前锋报》创刊人

《前锋报》于1939年5月29日,在新加坡创刊,当时为爪夷文报章,创刊人就是我国首任总统尤索夫伊萨,和另一位有“马来新闻之父”的阿都拉欣卡加依。

《前锋报》于1959年将总部迁至吉隆坡,并且同时出版罗马字的《马来西亚前锋报》及爪夷文《马来前锋报》(Utusan Melayu),《马来前锋报》过后停刊。

马来亚独立后,巫统多次干涉《马来前锋报》编采事务,指责该报报导对巫统不利。

1959年,创刊人兼总编辑尤索夫·依萨在巫统的持续施压下辞职,同时也将他和他的家族所持有的股权转售给当时的首相东姑阿都拉曼。

1961年,为了让巫统更全面地掌控《马来前锋报》,该报董事部将当时的总编辑赛·扎哈利(Said Zahari)调派回新加坡,但赛·扎哈利不遵从这项指示,事后更演变成罢工行动。

后来赛·扎哈利在冷藏行动中被逮捕,从1963年至1979年,赛·扎哈利在内安法令下被未经审讯地扣留了将近17年。
