Following the announcement of the formation of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (ECRB), it seems political parties have shifted into high gear in anticipation of the general elections, speculated to be in just a few months.
The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP), in anticipation of the GE, has revamped their website to be easier to navigate and is optimised for smartphones as well as laptops and tablets.
Announcing the new face of yoursdp.org, which was launched at midnight on 18 September, Secretary-General of the SDP, Dr Chee Soon Juan said on Facebook that the party is ready for the GE.
The website contains information about the party’s campaign and activities and will contain up-to-date news on the party’s ongoings as we get closer to election time.
SDP’s Manifesto: The Way Forward
On top of the fresh website, SDP will also be launching its manifesto in the form of a coffee table book titled ‘The Way Forward’ on Saturday, 28 September, in conjunction with SDP’s 39th anniversary.
In a different Facebook post on 16 September announcing the upcoming book, Dr Chee said, “After months of work in design and layout, we are proud to announce the launching of our manifesto for the coming GE. A political manifesto is a declaration of a party’s vision and mission, a pronouncement of its plans and policies.”
He added that the book is an important signal of the SDP’s intent to change Singapore for the better.
The public launch of the manifesto will be held at Colonial@Scotts from 2-4pm on Saturday, 28 September and members of the public are welcomed to join in the event. The book will be priced at S$39 each.
